Hi there,

I'm so pleased to tell you that my long talked about book (by me at least!) - 'Anger, Rage and Relationship: An Empathic Approach to Anger Management' has gone to press with Routledge Publishers and will be out in August of this year.

Anger and rage continue to be issues of concern for all of us...it's my belief that we can all experience problems with these phenomena from time to time and to varying degrees. Often, at the heart of such difficulties lies a profound misunderstanding about the  nature and purpose of anger and rage which means helping professionals are not always as efficacious as they might be in supporting their clients, and policy makers at all levels don't always implement the most pertinent or effective initiatives and programmes.

The book addresses these misunderstandings and promotes a  relational (rather than purely cognitive or behavioural) approach  that has relevance in the personal, interpersonal and political  arenas. It has already been quoted in a Harper's Magazine article in an article by Claire Irvin about Anger and Women which will be out on May 1st.

I continue to deliver my 'Anger, Rage & Relationship' CPD training 3 times a year in Cornwall and 'in-house' on demand across the UK. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements.

Attendance at these trainings entitle you to place your name in a free,   'Find an Empathic Anger Management therapist in your area' directory that I am currently constructing' on this site.

I'm also available for consultation with regard to improving the emotional processes within your organisation which will benefit staff and clients alike. An emotionally intelligent environment supports the wellbeing of all and the quicker recovery of clients; further it reduces unhelpful client-staff or team dynamics (and consequently complaints), staff sickness and burn out.

I would be very grateful to recieve examples of how my empathic  approach has helped you with your own and others anger and rage and will post them in this newsletter.

I look forward to hearing from  you.

All good wishes, bye for now, Sue  (8th March, 2008)
